1.  Mini pigs can be destructive if left alone with free roam of your home.  They are similar to a puppy in the way that curiosity can get the best of them.

2.  Mini pigs can put anything and everything in their mouth.  Very similar to a toddler.

3.  You need to have someone take care of your pig if you are away for an extended amount of time.  Not many kennels are equipped to care for pigs.  (We do offer an extended stay spahhh at Royal James Gang Mini Pigs.)

4.  Find a vet BEFORE you take your mini pig home.  Not all vets care for mini pigs and you need to be sure that someone is familiar with their care for the medical needs of your pet pig.

5.  You should research the policies of your local laws. You may be required to be zoned for a pet pig.

6.   Mini pigs are a lifetime pet. They live 15-21 years. It takes them a bit to transfer trust as a baby to their forever family and it is even harder for them to transfer trust when they get older. Please take this into consideration when you choose to adopt a mini pig. When we say FOREVER FAMILY, we truly mean that your piggy should be with you for his lifetime.

Now ask yourself....Are you are prepared to offer a lifetime home to a mini pig???

Things to Consider BEFORE you Commit to a Lifetime Pet
